This is a soda fired vase that has a pleasant full rounded form. The glaze colors come from the heavy reduction in the kiln when fired. They are rich and opaque and stand in contrast to the lower portion that is unglazed and just shows the warm toned clay body. Blue polka dots, decorative handle feature and hickory nut stamps all work well with the upside down graphic detail of the sumac tree images. The image is made from my digital photographs and turned into a fire-able decal. A prominent foot raises the form up and it is glazed on the inside for holding live flowers. 8 1/2 inches tall 5 at the belly and 2 1/2 inches at the lip
